Greater storage capacity enables users to capture more Quick Time Video and high-resolution sports, underwater and travel photos all on one card for a longer period of time between downloads to a computer or printer. This is a great advantage for travelers who cant easily edit or print photos while on the road, and want to capture as many memories as possible. The M2 GB enables users to take and store approximately 1,000 shots (average image size of 8 megapixels) with an Olympus digital still camera in HQ mode (the default high-quality image setting).

With a volume of 0.85 cc and a weight of 2 g, the xD-Picture Card boasts the smallest form factor of any digital memory card, making it exceptionally portable and convenient. The miniature size of the new card will enable development of even smaller digital cameras.

Read/Write Speeds: The xD-Picture Card can record data at 3MB/sec and both offer a read speed of 5MB/sec. These high speeds can greatly enhance the users experience with a product. For example, a photographer can take new pictures or view existing images more quickly with the xD-Picture Card media than with other, slower media formats.
